The saying “Let the buyer beware” is never truer than when you are attempting to do something that is very likely illegal. If you are hoping to buy THC oil online, the first question to ask is “Why do you want it”? If you’re hoping to get high, nothing else will do, but if you were initially looking for “Rick Simpson Oil”, you are probably planning to use it for medical reasons. The question is whether you want to risk getting ripped off, or worse yet, arrested.
CBD oil contains THC
The reason why many people buy CBD oil online, while few have had success when they want to buy THC oil online, is that CBD oil contains such a tiny amount of THC that it isn’t illegal, at least not in the sense of it being an illicit drug used by people who want to get high.
This said, there are some complications not least of which being that if you source your CBD oil from out-of-state, your oil can be confiscated. Interestingly, the import of hemp products from other countries isn’t subject to the same set of rules. As long as the THC level remains within legal limits, hemp products from other countries are legal.
If there is so little THC in hemp CBD oil, does it even work?
The simple answer is “Not if you want to get high!” Many people seem to have benefitted from using high CBD oils with a little THC thrown in. The most famous of these cases was documented by CNN’s Dr Sanjay Gupta, who pointed out that a little THC produces the so-called “entourage” effect of multiple compounds working together. This is the reason he gives for his skepticism regarding pharmaceuticals containing single extracts.
Some call CBD oil “medical marijuana”
There are some who believe that CBD oil is the only acceptable form of cannabis. They distinguish between high THC oils and CBD oil by calling the latter “medical marijuana”, but this term is not strictly speaking accurate. Botanically speaking, both plants do belong to the same genus and species, but in practical terms there are huge differences between hemp and marijuana. Just ask any consumer. They’ll confirm it.
Buy THC oil online – beware scams and the police
There have been many reports of scams, some of which make use of Rick Simpson’s name as a marketing ploy in the hope of gaining credibility. The scam is simple. Place your order. Pay for your product, and the person you bought it from simply disappears.
In most states in the US, being in possession of THC oil can still lead to a lengthy jail term, despite all the noises that are being made about medical marijuana programs and even full legalization. Currently, the DEA is only allowing legal marijuana in states that show they are able to regulate the industry. This doesn’t include shady online deals.
Play it safe and choose CBD oil. If you try to buy THC oil online, be aware that you face risks, and even if your oil arrives safely, it may not be cannabis oil at all.
