What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is an extract obtained from hemp and is composed, among other things, of CBD: one of the numerous cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. The CBD is first extracted and then mixed with a carrier oil: typically coconut oil, olive oil, or hemp seed oil. The result is a blend of beneficial active ingredients.

CBD oil has no intoxicating effects, regardless of the CBD content. Hence, it can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life. A growing number of studies indicate that CBD oil can offer support in case of various ailments such as anxiety, mood swings, pain, and inflammation.

Moreover, it is considered a natural and safe option and does not cause addiction. Therefore, it is unsurprising that people are increasingly turning to CBD oil to enhance their well-being. It is, however, important to note that people with conditions requiring medication should seek medical advice before taking CBD oil.

Effects of CBD oil

Mainly responsible for the effects of CBD oil and other CBD products are the so-called cannabinoids - first and foremost, the eponymous cannabidiol.

Cannabinoids are organic compounds that can occur in three different forms:

  • Endogenous cannabinoids
  • Natural cannabinoids (e.g., CBD, CBN, CBG, and THC)
  • Synthetic cannabinoids

Endogenous cannabinoids are produced by the human organism itself. This means that you currently have cannabinoids in your body.

Uses of CBD oil

CBD oil is a natural extract obtained from the hemp plant. It contains no psychoactive substances and is, therefore, legal in most countries.

Cannabidiol is a highly versatile active ingredient and interacts with our endocannabinoid system (ECS), thus influencing several physiological processes. These include pain perception, the control of inflammatory and immune responses, and emotional processing.

Accordingly, CBD oil can contribute to:

  • Brightening the mood and keeping stress and anxiety at bay
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Relieving acute and chronic pain
  • Accelerating skin regeneration
  • Inhibit inflammation and relieve the pain associated with it
  • Treating acne, eczema, and psoriasis
  • Overcoming nicotine and alcohol addiction
  • Strengthening the immune system
  • Protecting nerve cells and promoting their regeneration

CBD oil can therefore offer support against a wide variety of disorders, improving overall well-being and quality of life. On top of that, it has neither psychoactive effects nor relevant side effects and can accordingly be used without worries.

Benefits of CBD oil

  • Natural ingredients
  • Vegan
  • Uncomplicated intake thanks to the dropper
  • Individual dosage
  • Safe
  • High bioavailability (the body absorbs the CBD very well)

Our CBD oil contains only natural ingredients and is vegan.

How to take CBD oil

There are different ways to take CBD oil. We recommend the sublingual administration. You put the desired number of drops directly under your tongue, hold it there for 1-2 minutes, and finally swallow it. The idea behind it: The oral mucosa can already absorb part of the cannabinoids (e.g., CBD and CBG). The remaining active ingredients are then assimilated during digestion.

Taking CBD hemp oil is very easy. The brownish carrier oil may taste unfamiliar at first, but never unpleasant.

A step-by-step guide to taking CBD oil:

To absorb as much of the valuable cannabidiol as possible, you should take the CBD tincture orally. We have already briefly introduced the sublingual administration of CBD oil in the first section.

If you want to take CBD oil, we recommend proceeding as follows:

  1. Especially in the beginning, it is best to stand in front of a mirror. This way, you can see how many CBD drops already landed in your mouth.

  2. Put your head back slightly, open your mouth, and place the dropper's opening under your lifted tongue. To make it easier, you can press your tongue against your palate.

  3. Now apply a slight pressure on the cap of the dropper. The CBD oil should come out drop by drop.

  4. Once you’ve reached the desired number of CBD oil drops (dosage), you can screw the dropper back on the bottle.

  5. Remember: to get the most out of your CBD oil, you should not swallow it immediately but keep it under your tongue for at least one minute. After ingestion, it is recommended not to eat, drink or smoke for at least 5 minutes.

  6. Once the minute has passed, you can swallow the remaining CBD oil. The gastrointestinal tract will absorb the rest of the cannabinoids.

CBD oil dosage

When it comes to CBD oil and other CBD products, there is no optimal dosage that applies to everyone. The need, the tolerance, and even the individual absorption rate or absorption speed differ from person to person.

We always recommend taking it slowly. A "too low" dose of CBD has never harmed anyone. If the desired effect does not occur, you can take a few more drops the next time.

While there is no universally applicable dosage, there are factors you should consider when taking CBD oil:

  • Your body weight - the more you weigh, the more mg CBD you should take.

  • Your individual body chemistry - how sensitive is your body to CBD oil? How quickly does your body metabolize it? You will learn this over time.

  • Your needs - what ailments do you want relief from? How severe are they? Why do you want to use CBD oil?

  • Your needs - what ailments do you want to fend off? How severe are they? Why do you want to use CBD oil?

  • Your age and size

All of these factors influence the dosage of CBD oil. We've put together the following guidelines thinking of those who just started using CBD oil. Of course, you can deviate from them if, for example, a positive effect occurs already with a lower dosage.

Normal CBD oil dosage High CBD oil dosage Extremely high CBD oil dosage
CBD in mg 1 - 20 mg/day 21 - 120 mg/day > 350 mg
Areas of application (exemplary) Sleep, calming, stress, vomiting Anxiety, headaches, inflammation, depression Chronic pain, epilepsy, MS

When applied in practice, CBD oil is often used following the motto “the more, the better”. This is certainly not advisable. The risks regarding side effects approach zero. However, this is no reason to waste precious CBD oil with an unnecessarily high dosage.

It is best to start off slowly, discovering your feelgood dose step by step. One to four drops of high-quality CBD oil is often enough for beginners. Positive side effect: you consume significantly less. Use and enjoy the properties of our natural CBD oil consciously - drop by drop!

Side effects of CBD oil

CBD oil is a natural product that is considered safe and well-tolerated. Side effects are highly unlikely. However, depending on the dosage and the previously listed factors, the assumption of CBD oil might cause:

Drowsiness, especially at high doses. Those who have taken CBD oil at high doses should not drive or operate heavy machinery. A good solution is to use CBD in the evening.

Dry mouth: It isn't delightful, but there's an easy way out: drink a lot of water.

Low blood pressure (especially at high doses), which in turn causes fatigue. If you have low blood pressure, we recommend measuring it after taking CBD oil. This way, you’re always on the safe side.

Although CBD is known to support the gastrointestinal tract, it might cause nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. This is attributed to the fact that, in some cases, the body needs some time to adjust to this natural active ingredient.

It remains to be noted that CBD products should be avoided during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are taking medication, you should consult a doctor before using CBD.

What to look for when shopping CBD oil

There is a large selection of CBD oils. To us, it is, above all, the "inner values" that matter. For this reason, our CBD products are regularly tested by independent third-party labs. This way, high quality is guaranteed, and we are sure that the THC content never exceeds the legal limits.

  • Highest quality and purity
  • Extracted exclusively from organic hemp
  • Maximum transparency and high-quality CBD products at fair prices

What is CBD oil made from?

We consider CBD oil a gift from nature and should be treated with respect. This is why, our CBD oils contain only the best of the hemp plant.

Nothing else is required:

  • Cold-pressed hemp seed oil
  • Terpenes
  • Vitamin E
  • Natural CBD / hemp molecules (cannabinoids)

How to determine CBD oil quality

At a time when more and more people are longing for inner peace and relaxation, it is not surprising that cannabidiol is becoming increasingly popular. Accordingly, the sheer variety of CBD products is head-spinning and can put new customers a little bit at a loss. This leaves many wondering how to identify high-quality CBD. Below we have listed the factors that in our opinion one should consider.

Cultivation: To get top-quality CBD oil, you, first of all, need great hemp plants that should ideally be organically grown. This way, you can be sure they are free of heavy metals, pesticides, and other chemicals. In addition, they should be EU-certified.

Comprehensive quality control: Tests conducted by independent laboratories are crucial to determine the CBD content and guarantee the purity of the product. They also ensure that the THC concentration is below the legal threshold. A reputable company will provide the results of these tests upon request.

Adherence to guidelines for quality assurance: To craft a quality product, it is always worth following guidelines developed by independent organizations.

The ones listed here are particularly relevant with regard to CBD oils:

  • Good agricultural and collection practice (GACP)
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Short supply chain: The fewer players involved in the production process, the easier it is to keep an overview, consistently enforce one's quality standards, and fix potential problems.

These have been our cornerstones for more the ten years now.

How is CBD oil made?

The hemp plant constitutes the basis of every CBD product since it contains the valuable cannabinoids that eventually end up in CBD oil.

To produce our oils, we use hemp varieties/hemp seeds registered in the EU common catalogue of varieties of agricultural plant species.

Step 1: Obtaining the raw extract from the plant

The first step is to obtain an extract from the hemp plant. The extract itself may not look very inviting, but it is full of valuable natural compounds such as:

  • Cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, and also THC (in vanishingly small concentrations)
  • Terpenes
  • Wax / Resin
  • Chlorophyll

A hemp oil, which contains all the natural compounds found in the hemp plant, is also called full spectrum oil.

Step 2: Filter the raw extract further and further to achieve higher purity.

During this step, all compounds that are not CBD are filtered out. When the extract reaches a CBD content of above 80 percent it begins to crystallize. Accordingly, it is possible to produce CBD crystals with a purity of over 99 percent.

CBD oil testimonials

Testimonials

The web is full of testimonials from people who use CBD oil. Many recommend it in case of pain, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Some report an improvement in their mood and ability to concentrate. Other users report that CBD improved their mood and their ability to focus. Others are happy to have finally found a natural alternative to prescription medication.

To be sure, there are also contrary opinions, but among those who have tried CBD oil, enthusiasm undoubtedly prevails. However, testimonials cannot be considered scientifical evidence. So, what does science tell us?

Scientifical studies

In recent years, more and more researchers have been looking into the benefits of CBD in managing a wide variety of ailments. Various studies show that CBD can help relieve pain. Some indicate it can keep anxiety disorders at bay and improve sleep quality.

Mounting evidence also suggests that CBD might be effective in case of epilepsy. The results are indeed positive, and CBD is considered to have great potential. However, further studies are needed, especially with a large sample size.

The legal status of CBD

Cannabis containing THC is legal only in a few countries and usually only for medical purposes. This raises the question: Is CBD oil legal?

In 2023 CBD is legal in the US, the UK, and all EU countries. However, it is necessary to consider that laws and regulations may vary from country to country. For example, in Belgium and in Portugal you need a medical prescription, which is not the case in most Eu countries.

FAQ's about CBD oil

Cannabis, buds, hemp, and CBD are associated with many myths, and most people do not know about our CBD products' impressive range of benefits. We continue to receive questions on this topic, which is why we would like to briefly answer the most frequent ones:

Therefore, it is best to store the CBD oil in the refrigerator where it's cold and dark. This way, you significantly increase shelf life. CBD capsules, on the other hand, should be stored in a dark place at a temperature between 16 and 28 degrees (so not in the refrigerator).

Our 3% CBD oil is very suitable for beginners. It contains mainly hemp seed oil and hemp extract. The amount of CBD is 300 mg. 1 drop corresponds to 1 mg. Since it is a full-spectrum product, it also contains other compounds found in hemp:

  • CBDA
  • CBV
  • CBG
  • CBN
  • Terpenes and flavonoids
  • Other natural compounds

As a carrier oil, we use cold-pressed hemp seed oil. If you want to take CBD at a moderate or even high dosage, you should choose an oil with a higher CBD content.

There is no one size fits all answer to this question because there are numerous factors that come into play:

  • The type of CBD oil
  • The way you use it
  • The dosage
  • The individual reaction of the body

What is certain is that CBD oil works fastest when the drops are placed directly under the tongue. In this case, you can feel the effects between 20 and 40 minutes after use. It is recommended to take the oil on an empty stomach to speed up the absorption.

The percentage on the packaging corresponds to the concentration of CBD in the oil. The higher the percentage, the higher the concentration.

Our 3% CBD extract is perfect for beginners. 10% CBD hemp seed oil is optimal for everyday users. 15% and 24% CBD oils are for those who want to take CBD at high doses. In particular, 24% is the ideal concentration to support the body in case of chronic pain.

The total amount of CBD (in mg) in the bottle is also essential. In fact, this information makes it possible to determine the CBD content per drop and thus to dose the oil with great accuracy. In our shop, we indicate the total amount of the active ingredient on all products.

10% CBD per 10 ml hemp seed oil equals 1,000mg CBD in one bottle of our premium bestseller. Here, too, we work with the full spectrum so that all valuable compounds produced by the hemp plant end up in the bottle.

We do not use any special additives or carrier substances and rely instead on Mother Nature.

The ingredients include:

  • Cold-pressed hemp seed oil
  • Terpenes
  • Vitamin E
  • CBD and other cannabinoids

CBD is legal in the UK, the USA, and all EU countries. That said, the EU Novel Food Catalog does not list CBD as a novel food. In other words, the sale of CBD as a food is prohibited.

Consequently, if you see a retailer selling CBD as food, you should be careful. It is also important to note that laws and regulations are not the same in all countries and that they also may vary.
