Know your CBD: CBD E-liquid vs CBD oil and CBD crystals

Those who hope to implement the possible benefits associated with using CBD will find themselves faced with a bewildering array of choices. Should they choose a CBD e-liquid, or would CBD crystals or even CBD oil be a better option? In this article, we will examine the pros and cons of the various CBD formulations, allowing you to make an informed choice.

What’s the difference between all these formulations?

The ingredients and the way in which they are used differ in all three cases.
CBD oil should be chosen when people wish to make the most of the nutritional ingredients in hemp oil such as omega 3’s and antioxidants. As the name suggests CBD is also present in oils, but ingestion means that absorption from the digestive tract is necessary, and this may be affected by a variety of factors. The effect of CBD will therefore be unpredictable and delayed, making it more difficult to determine what dose is right for you.

CBD crystals consist of 99% CBD. They can be used in the preparation of edibles, but it should be remembered that effects will be delayed as described above. Alternatively, they can be used for dabbing using a suitable apparatus. In this case, inhalation of vapour leads to direct absorption of CBD into the bloodstream, allowing users to determine the correct dose based on how they feel directly after dabbing.

CBD e-liquids can only be used for vaping with a device such as an e-cigarette or vaporiser. As with dabbing of CBD crystals, effects are instantaneous, allowing users to determine when they have consumed sufficient CBD for the intended purpose.

Why use CBD at all?

Despite the fact that CBD, a cannabinoid from hemp cannabis plants is non-psychoactive, it has a very relaxing effect. Many people choose a CBD e-liquid for this reason alone. They sleep better at night and feel less stressed out and anxious after using it. Others choose CBD because it is purported to have many of the same benefits of THC, but without the side effects. Thus it is chosen as a form of “medical marijuana” that doesn’t impair cognition.
Last, but not least, many choose CBD since it stimulates the endocannabinoid system – a system that helps the body to remain in a healthy balance (known as homeostasis).

What determines your choice?

To a large degree, your final choice will depend on personal preference, but for maximum bioavailability of CBD, vaping with CBD e-liquid or dabbing with CBD crystals are the best options.
